DIY Hair Moisturizing Mask

The change of a season means new hairstyles for fall, and you don’t want to leave your locks behind. Take your hair from dull or damaged to healthy, shiny and voluptuous. You don’t have to spend time and money on expensive hair treatments; your kitchen has all you need to make your mane smooth and luscious!

These treatments can be used as often as once a week, but for some, once a month is enough. This recipe can be altered easily, so if your kitchen items vary a bit, get creative! Avocados and bananas are great hair softeners, and one to two drops of natural, scented oil can be added for fragrance.

What you need:

2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon of honey or agave nectar

½ tablespoon of lemon juice (this is optional; it works as a natural highlight)

1 egg

Saran wrap or aluminum foil

What you do:

Whisk all ingredients together and work through dry hair. Using either saran wrap or aluminum foil, wrap your hair together and create a head cap. This activates heat and locks it into your hair. Leave on for 15-30 minutes. Remove the cap, rinse your hair, and wash with shampoo.

Additional ingredients you can add:

Coconut cream

Yogurt

Flat beer

Apple cider vinegar

Dried sunflower petals

Sea salt
