Makeup tips for perfect long lasting lip color

No one wants to miss out on holiday party fun to keep reapplying lip color. With these simple makeup tips courtesy of Shana King, beauty educator, professional makeup artist, and beauty director of Anisa International, you can create lip looks that will last longer than the party.
Step 1: Check to see if your lips are dry or flaky. To quickly remove dry skin for smoother lips and achieve a better application, mix a small amount of olive oil and sugar to gently exfoliate lips. To lock in moisture, apply lip balm prior to lip color application.
Step 2: Using either a nude or matching lip pencil, apply to entire surface of top and bottom lips. Use a lip brush to soften and set. This will help prevent color from bleeding into fine lines over time and will also create a base color to help lip gloss and color last longer without fading.
Step 3: If you are going for a bold lip look use a lip brush and soften color onto lips until desired color level is achieved. Using a brush to apply bright color (such as red) will give the trend look without the heaviness, especially if you are not use to wearing such bright shades.
Step 4: To exaggerate lip size, apply a white shadow around top and bottom lip line and soften. Once the color has been applied, dust a small amount of the white shadow into center of lips for a pouty pucker.
