10 minute makeup routine for busy women
By: Carla Snuggs
During the hustle and bustle of the holidays, you may not have tons of time to put on makeup, especially if you’re a busy mom. However, if you have at least 10 minutes to spare, you can look beautifully fresh-faced and ready to take on the day. Yes, you can look great in less than 10 minutes. Reema Khan, CEO of s.h.a.p.e.s. Brow Bar, shows you her “go-to” tips for a speedy makeup routine. Here is Reema’s 10 minute makeup tutorial — there are only 4 steps. What’s the key to this 10 minute makeup routine? Well-shaped eyebrows!
Step1: Frame the face with well-shaped eyebrows. When eyebrows are properly groomed (threaded*, waxed or plucked), eyes will pop naturally without any need for eye shadow. Make sure that brows are not too thin and fill them in with a touch of brow powder for maximum effect. NOTE: Make the front of your eyebrows a bit darker than the rest in order to give the illusion of a smaller nose.
Step 2: Use a pressed foundation powder for a quick, even application without mess to create a fresh look.
Step 3: Curl eyelashes before applying mascara in order to ensure that mascara goes on evenly and you can get away with a single application. Again, framing the eyes properly is key to a polished look.
Step 4: Finish with a quick application of blush and lip gloss, remembering that less is more! If you over-apply on this step, you will lose the fresh-faced, natural effect.
*Benefits of Threading Your Eyebrows:
- With threading, you are able to pluck one hair at a time if necessary, ensuring complete precision.
- Threading is known to be significantly less painful and irritating on the skin. It is an effective treatment for those who use Retin-A or other acne products, and therefore cannot wax.
- The process of threading uproots the hair, making for longer lasting results than tweezing or waxing.
- Over time, waxing can make the skin begin to sag. With threading, only the direct hair is removed, keeping your delicate skin smooth and wrinkle-free!
