Holiday eye makeup tutorial by professional makeup artist Tara Loren
By Carla Snuggs

The holidays will be here before you know it. That means it’s time to practice beautiful holiday eye makeup looks and perfect them before your big events. Tara Loren  has provided a super easy holiday eye makeup tutorial. Tara Loren is a Hollywood makeup darling who has done makeup for clients in a host film and TV shows in HD including the actors on “True Blood”.  This holiday eye makeup will look like it took you hours to create, but you can get this look with 6 products in 5 easy steps, all of which are waterproof for any surprise tears or winter storms.

Step 1
Start by priming the eyelid, just from lash line to crease. This helps with extra stay-put power for the night. Tara Loren loves Laura Mercier Eye Canvas or Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion.

Step 2
Add a base of color to ensure your skin doesn’t peek thru. These Aqua Cream colors from Make Up For Ever are fantastic. Great pigment and they don’t crease. For this look try Gold #11. Apply using your fingertip from lash line to crease.

On a small plastic lid or dish pour a small amount of Make Up For Ever Aquarelle in Gold #15 and mix in a glitter of your choice. (Add glitter slowly, you don’t want this to become chunky). Tara is using a coordinating Glitter from Make Up For Ever again in Gold #1, a metallic yellow gold. Mix these together with a small flat tip natural hair brush. Once you have it well mixed together wipe the excess from your brush or use a similar flat tip natural brush that is clean and apply your mix in small dabbing motions working from the outer corner to the inner and staying between the lash line and the crease. Be sure to apply a smooth, semi thin layer; this look is fresh and modern plus you don’t want chunks of glitter falling in your eye half way through the night.

Step 4
Line your upper lash line making sure to stay as close to the lashes as possible. Tara Loren suggests using a dark golden brown liner but you could definitely use your trusty go-to black liner for this look as well.

Step 5
Apply two coats of a black mascara Tara loves doing one coat of a mascara that adds thickness and top with a waterproof formula to lock the look in place. Be sure to keep the rest of your face fresh and minimal. Top it off with a neutral gloss that doesn’t contain a lot of sparkle, just some shine so you don’t distract from your eyes.

This bold eye will surely grab everyone’s attention. Happy Holidays!
