Learn how to get this season’s most romantic hairstyles
By: Carla Snuggs

Finally, it’s fall!  With leaves turning color and a slight chill in the air, changes seem to be everywhere. With all these changes, why not switch up your hair as well? Autumn brings new romantic hair trends that are easy to translate on your own locks. We found 3 romantic fall looks and we’re going to show you how to get them with the help of  celebrity hair and makeup artist Julia Papworth. Papworth has worked on countless tv, film, and photo shoots with numerous celebrities including Kendra Wilkinson, Julia Stiles, Rashida Jones, Caridee English, Elijah Woof, Andy Sandberg, and many more!

Romantic Waves
Romantic waves
never seems to go out of style. To create this effortless look, wrap small sections around a 1.5” curling iron, but make sure to leave out the ends of your hair. Work your way around your head and when you finish, give your hair a minute or so to cool. Run your fingers through the curls to loosen them and relax them into waves. Use Bumble and Bumble grooming crème to piece out the bottom of the hair and to define the wave. Think undone texture with a bit of frizz instead of “flawless curls”.

Romantic Wavy HairSoft, Loose Ponytail
An understated, low pony is a quick way to look polished without spending too much time. After blow-drying your hair with a volumizer like Leonor Greyl’s Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice, use a larger barrel curling iron and wrap random sections of hair around the barrel to create flowing waves. Part the hair where you would like and loosely pull it back into a low ponytail at the nape. Fasten with an elastic. Use Oribe Apres Beach Spray to define the texture of the curls. Don’t tuck it behind the ears and make sure to leave some loose pieces around the face — it oozes romance!

Soft Loose Ponytail

Slicked Back, “Wet” Look
Super slicked back hair is a big trend for fall. Seen on all the fashion week runways, this sexy look is easily translatable. Blow-dry hair with Oribe Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray to smooth tresses and comb your hair straight back. To achieve the wet look Papworth loves to use Redken All Soft Argan-6 Oil through the roots to the nape, but leave the rest of the hair void of product so it can move. Then finish with a gel (Papworth loves Aveda Flax Seed Aloe Strong Hold Sculpting Gel ) over the oil and slick back with your hands or a comb. A light mist of Moroccan Oil Luminous Hairspray and you are out the door. Tres chic and romantic!
