How to stay strong in 2013!
By: Ashton Darnell
The holiday season is coming to a close, which means that a new year is approaching. As we begin to make our long lists of positive changes and resolutions for 2013, it’s important to keep in mind just how we plan on sticking to our goals for the new year.
There seems to be a recurring theme; we stick to our New Year’s resolutions for a few weeks (or days) and then quickly fall back into old habits. Don’t let that happen this year! Croix Sather, author of Dream Big Act Big and Better Body Better Life, shares his top tips for achieving your goals in 2013!
Stop thinking small – Thinking small will get you small results. Think big, audacious goals and dreams; expect more; and live your life with a big purpose and meaning and you’ll achieve big bold results.
Don’t play the blame game – If you want to make a change you need to take responsibility for your actions. You can’t blame the past or current administration, your upbringing, education, or anyone or anything else.
Ultra success comes to those who demand it – When it is unacceptable for anything to happen other than your goal, then and only then is it possible to achieve.
Get around people who have accomplished what you want to accomplish – If you want to make more money, get around wealthy people; if you want to lose weight, go to the gym and get around fit people. Whatever you want to accomplish, get away from toxic people and get around those who have already accomplished it.
Take action – When we don’t take action we miss opportunities; we miss going on adventures; meeting amazing people; falling in love; finding new friends and making new business connections. If you don’t take action today, when will you? If it doesn’t happen today it never happens.
Stand tall and run boldly through life – You are never going to get noticed, get your resume to the top of the pile or make it to the finals by always playing it safe, being like everyone else or following the crowd. If you want the big reward you have to be bold and standout.
Never Give In – In the words of Winston Churchill, “Never give in, never, never, never.” Success goes to those who are the most tenacious and persistent. This is more important than intelligence, education and experience. When do you stop? When you achieve your outcome.
No matter what your New Year’s resolutions may be for 2013, we hope you keep some of these helpful tips in your back pocket and use them to achieve your goals!
