Who doesn’t love a product that can serve more than one purpose? I know this is a huge factor for me when buying any product. I will be the first to grab for a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner or a moisturizer that also provides SPF protection, which is why I was tempted to try the dual-use Exfoliating Scrub by Z Mei.
What caught my eye when reading the Exfoliating Scrub’s product description was that it could be used as a scrub but also as an exfoliating mask, cha-ching! I figured I would first try out the product as a simple scrub and then for my second use I would try it as a mask. When I first opened the jar and removed the lid, I noticed the scrubs thick, white, grainy consistency. I scooped a small, but generous, amount on to my fingers and followed the directions. I applied it evenly to my face and then wet my fingers and began to scrub in a circular motion, followed by rinsing with warm water. Wow! I must say I immediately noticed the difference in my skin; it felt clean, like it could breathe.
I was even more eager to try the scrub as an exfoliating face mask. I washed my face with the Z Mei Cleanser prior to applying the face mask to ensure my skin and pores were clean and ready to be exfoliated! I opened the jar and scooped about the same amount as before, but had to go back for more in order to have the mask applied evenly. After I applied the mask (avoiding my eye area) I began to wait the recommended twenty minutes. I am proud to say that as the twenty minutes came to an end I could feel the mask on my skin but it did not feel tight and cakey, like most facial masks. I rinsed the mask off with warm water. After patting my face dry, I noticed that my skin felt amazingly smooth. Just as with the scrub, the mask left my skin feeling just how it should after a good cleansing … clean and radiant!
